The Waterpark Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the World Waterpark including the supervision of Waterpark staff and providing guests with exceptional customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating Slide Attendant I and II, Lifeguards, Food and Beverage and World Waterpark Guest Services.
- Ensure that staff are at their appropriate workstations following all World Waterpark expectations, policies and procedures.
- Directly assist Aquatics, Food & Beverage, SkyFlyer Zipline and World Waterpark Guest Service staff in performance of all duties as needed.
- Performing administrative duties such as new employee onboarding, accident investigations, employee performance appraisals and employee performance corrections.
- Ensure effective communication with staff related to West Edmonton Mall and World Waterpark programs and initiatives.
- Responding to guest concerns and special requests, while utilizing exceptional guest service and conflict resolution skill.
- Presenting a professional appearance and attitude at all times and enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Be actively involved in creating and maintaining a safe environment for all staff and guests.
- Responding to major and required minor first aid situations to assist or monitor the staff providing first aid.
- Monitor World Waterpark cleanliness and request cleaning support as required.
- Act as a role model for other staff.
- Assist with implementing staff training programs and procedures.
- Other Supervisory duties as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year of lifeguarding experience at World Waterpark.
- Must have a current Intermediate First Aid, National Lifeguard Pool, National Lifeguard Waterpark, Oxygen Administration, and ProServe.
- Previous Supervisory experience in an environment that requires strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures with a large staff and guest capacity.
- Experience working successfully with a variety of employees, including mentoring employees new to the workforce.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by team building and motivational abilities.
- Previous guest service skills and the ability to foster positive interactions with the public at all times complemented by strong conflict resolution skills.
- Safety minded with the ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a part-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a hot and humid environment and near water and chlorine.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
