The Visual Design Supervisor has the responsibility of providing efficient and effective operational support to the Visual Design Manager by ensuring projects by the Design Assistants, Horticulture and Seasonal teams are completed on time, on budget and within the desired design criteria.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design Assistant team support: Oversee the duties and performance of assistant staff members. Foster a positive and supportive work environment with all members.
  • Seasonal Staff team support: Assisting with hiring and training reliable and skilled seasonal staff to decorate displays. Planning the organization of the holiday set up and take down. Managing inventory and equipment rentals including lifts and trailer transport and on-site storage. Procuring of supplies and materials.
  • Horticulture team support: Facilitate communication and collaboration between horticulture technicians, ensuring live plants are receiving the proper care throughout the property. Consult with suppliers, vendors, for supplies and materials acquisition.
  • Administrative tasks: Assisting with scheduling & payroll. Maintaining databases of documents and photos. Assisting with purchase orders and invoice processing. Ensure adherence to administrative policies and procedures.
  • Project coordination: Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across all team members. Identify and address potential roadblocks proactively. Leading high quality assurances and craftsmanship of all displays with on going inspections and developing/executing maintenance programmes.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Two (2) or more years – experience with merchandising, set/stage design, commercial design and or related fields of work is essential to the success of this role. Two (2) or more years – experience as supervisor or management in these fields is an asset.
  • Completion of a post-secondary education in design, project management or a related discipline is an asset.
  • A professional attitude and demeanor complemented by excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision adhering to broad task-based goals and objectives complemented by exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate the dynamic nature of seasonal displays and installations.
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent computer skills including a strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook as well the ability to adapt to other software programs if required.
Terms of Employment:
  • This is a full-time position that is required Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm with availability during the evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
