The Race Kart Technician Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of the high-speed Sodi Race Karts at West Edmonton Mall’s multi-level attraction, “Drive.” This role involves supervising a team of technicians, coordinating daily maintenance schedules, and ensuring safety standards and operational excellence across all kart-related activities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the daily activities of Race Kart Technicians, ensuring all maintenance, inspections, and repairs are completed to standard.
- Oversee and perform daily mechanical, electrical, and safety inspections of all Sodi Race Karts.
- Coordinate and participate in kart rebuilds, repairs, and cosmetic enhancements to maintain optimal performance and guest experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical or electrical issues, and provide guidance to team members in problem-solving efforts.
- Conduct routine track inspections and direct repair or maintenance efforts as needed.
- Plan and oversee preventive maintenance programs and long-term enhancement projects for the attraction.
- Ensure all safety gear, track elements, and attraction equipment are maintained and meet safety standards.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, maintenance logs, and reporting.
- Other supervisory responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven mechanical aptitude and experience with hands-on repair of mechanical and electrical systems, ideally in a recreational or motorsport environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a technical or mechanical role.
- Proficiency with hydraulic disc brakes, electrical equipment, and diagnostic tools.
- Experience with Sodi Race Karts, DC electronics, or similar vehicles such as go-karts, powered bikes, or off-road vehicles.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead, coach, and support a diverse technical team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety, quality assurance, and compliance.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full-time position that requires flexibly availability for days, evenings, weekends and holidays on a varied and rotational schedule.
- Must be able to pass a security clearance.
