Race Kart Technician

The Race Kart Technician will work out of West Edmonton Mall’s high intensity multi-level Sodi Race Kart Attraction “Drive” and be responsible for the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of our high-speed Go-Karts under the direction of the Race Kart Mechanic.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preforming daily safety, mechanical, electrical and quality assurance checks on the multiple Sodi Race Karts of the attraction “Drive”.
• Assisting with rebuilds, repairs and cosmetic enhancements to the Sodi Race Karts and track.
• Troubleshooting on the spot problems and repair requirements in the absence of the Race Kart Mechanic.
• Performing daily track walks to inspect for deficiencies or required repairs.
• Assisting with overall attraction maintenance, rebuilds or enhancement projects for the attraction.
• Inspecting and preforming minor repairs of all attraction equipment, safety gear and track elements.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Applicants must be mechanically inclined with the proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and have experience utilizing basic hand tools and specially repair equipment in the workplace.
• Previous experience with mechanics such as hydraulic disc brakes, precision measuring tools and electrical equipment components.
• Previous mechanical or repair experience with DC electronics, Sodi Race Karts, or similar equipment (go-karts, car repairs, powered bikes, off road vehicles, etc.) is a definite asset for the role.
• The ability to work independently as well as take direction from the Race Kart Mechanic and Drive Attraction Management team.
• Problem-solving skills, with great attention to safety procedures and protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work with a variety of environmental factors, including heat, noise and flashing lights, and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a part-time position that requires flexibly availability for days, evenings, weekends and holidays on a varied and rotational schedule.
• Must be able to pass a security clearance.
