Plumbing Supervisor

The Plumbing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Plumbing department and ensuring all plumbing systems are maintained including sewage lines, domestic water lines, potable water lines, aquariums and waterpark systems and any other equipment or fixture that is related to the plumbing industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensuring all staff is trained and have all certification and safety courses needed.
• Interviewing and ensuring enough staff are hired to complete all tasks effectively.
• Communicating with other trades and Mall departments to ensure all Plumbing needs are met in a timely manner.
• Responding to dispatch and delegating needs to all employees.
• Completing inventory and ensuring any necessary materials are in stock or a purchase order is placed.
• Maintaining a schedule regarding preventative maintenance including daily checks, monthly flushing, snaking, hydrant draining and testing, etc.
• Reading blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste drainage systems.
• Responding to service requests from mall and department tenants.
• Ensuring that all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded.
• Ensuring that all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and West Edmonton Mall building requirements.
• Ensuring compliance will all Occupational Health and Safety legislation guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Applicants must have a valid Journeyman Plumber Certification.
• A minimum of three (3) years-experience in a Commercial or Industrial Plumbing environment at senior level.
• Previous supervisory experience an asset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a full-time position required Monday through Friday, 7am - 3:30pm will occasional on call availability.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
