Electrical Apprentice (4th Year)

The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for the overall maintenance of the electrical distribution systems in West Edmonton Mall, including the Fire Alarm equipment and security network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings plus integrate electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
• Maintaining, repairing, modifying and monitoring the Mall’s fire alarm, property lighting, plus security cameras and computer network infrastructure. Fire Alarm Certification and/or Network Communication Structured Wiring experience are assets.
• Troubleshooting and performing minor repairs to WEM tenants’ electrical equipment.
• Ensuring compliance will all Occupational Health and Safety legislation guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• A minimum of four (4) years-experience in a Commercial, Residential or Industrial Electrical environment.
• Must provide proof of Apprenticeship.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a full-time position that is required Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30pm.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
