The World Waterpark Duty Manager will assist with supervising staff and ensuring the completion of daily tasks. This position will also be responsible for encouraging a positive working environment for employees and a safe, pleasant experience for our guests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing daily leadership and supervising all operational staff and activities of the World Waterpark including Supervisors, Aquatics, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Sky Flyer Zip Line.
- Acting as a point of contact for all company initiatives, outside agencies, governing bodies or emergency issues in the absence of the World Waterpark Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Responding to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly, effective, efficient manner and acting as the point of contact for any major events or activities in the park in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Assisting with the interviewing, hiring, training development, and performance management of the staff and acting as a mentor and role model within the workplace.
- Ensuring all park opening and closing duties, checklists, first aid reports and operational elements are maintained and adhered to daily.
- Stepping in to assist with all departments of the park as required.
- Working alongside the rest of the Waterpark Management team with recommending, designing, and implementing of staff training programs and procedures.
- Assist with the organization of Lifesaving Society courses and programs.
- Monitoring daily Waterpark cleanliness and request cleaning/maintenance support as required to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Ensuring effective communication with staff and any related initiatives and programs concerning West Edmonton Mall and World Waterpark are relayed.
- Other responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory or management level experience in a recreation center, aquatics facility or amusement-based operation.
- Post-secondary education in Business Management, Recreation Management, or in a related discipline is a definite asset for the role.
- Experience working successfully with all employees including mentoring those new to the workforce and leading large scale teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills complemented by strong team building and motivating abilities.
- A sound grasp of modern business principles, time-management, organization expectations, and staff management practices.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability Monday through Sunday, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
