The Corporate Legal Assistant for Head Office is responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative support to the Corporate Head Office of West Edmonton Mall. We are looking for an energetic, positive, team focused personality that excels in a fast-paced environment and has excellent attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting with reviewing and interpreting various contracts, purchase agreements, loan documents and various other complex legal documents requiring great attention to detail. Making required revisions and amendments as per the terms of the negotiations and resulting agreements as directed.
- Handling post-closing documents and coordinating receipt of finalized legal documentation from multiple sources in a timely manner.
- Preparation of corporate documents such as incorporations, share structures, dissolutions, revivals, shareholder agreements, resolutions, corporate reorganizations, minute book audits, due diligence searches, closing books, and other related Cores 3 level services.
- Maintenance of corporate files and minute books.
- Corporate Registry filings and registration matters.
- Providing various administrative support duties including drafting letters, scanning documents, responding to internal and external support inquires.
Desired Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar fast paced environment in a Legal Assistant/Paralegal role.
- Individuals with post-secondary education in business administration, paralegal or a legal assistant program are preferred.
- CORES Level II is required, Level III is an asset.
- An extremely professional attitude and demeanor complemented by excellent client relations skills, and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
- Experience working in a corporate environment dealing with Executives, Legal, Ownership, and various management and business styles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills complemented by the ability to work independently and make split-second decisions when required.
- Excellent typing and computer skills including a strong working knowledge of MS Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook as well the ability to adapt to other software programs as required.
- A strong business sense as well as the initiative to take on new responsibilities and duties as they arise.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full-time position required Monday through Friday.
- This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
