Building Operator

The Building Operator is responsible for ensuring that the daily mechanical operations of West Edmonton Mall meet the necessary high standards and that all systems are well-maintained and are running in an efficient manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitoring all building mechanical and site systems, including boilers, chillers, HVAC units, pumps, sprinklers and all ancillary equipment.
• Responding to building or equipment malfunctions and all alarms and mechanical requests.
• Completing regular maintenance on mechanical systems throughout the mall (e.g. water chemistry, filters, strainers, etc.).
• Drafting comprehensive daily logs of occurrences for each shift worked and monitoring the Building Automation System.
• Handling tenant mechanical concerns and assisting other trades as required.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Must possess a 4^th Class Power Engineering Certification.
• Previous experience working as a commercial Building Operator is an asset for this position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work various rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
