The BIM Designer will be responsible for developing; maintaining and enhancing the Revit and AutoCAD related drafting projects and plans for the West Edmonton Mall Shopping Centre and related Triple Five projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Developing, analyzing, and drafting Revit designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, AutoCAD, blueprints, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
  • Creating and modifying various outline drawings for tenant spaces, storage areas and common areas of West Edmonton Mall and related projects, based on leasing agreements and new internal development plans.
  • Frequenting and measuring site spaces to provide accurate layout details, reports, and area development consultations for internal and external project participants, such as tenants, contractors, the Construction Department and the Leasing Department.
  • Checking and maintaining design drawings to ensure lease plans are up-to-date and tenant design criteria is being met while providing and organizing required technical reports, information, and certifications for the Construction Department.
  • Maintaining and archiving tenant drawings, mall plans, and archival base building drawings for internal distribution, and updating online mall maps and layouts as per required revisions.
  • Drafting and conceptualizing modifications for upcoming/proposed projects at West Edmonton Mall and other Triple Five properties and initiatives.
Desired Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related Revit based experience with AutoCAD knowledge in the commercial construction sector.
  • Completion of Revit training certifications complemented by formalized post-secondary education in a drafting related discipline.
  • Proficient knowledge of Revit software and standard MS Office applications. Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Pro experience is an asset.
  • Must have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and abilities.
  • Previous experience in an organization with multiple objectives, new initiatives, and cross-industry priorities with previous Revit and AutoCAD or construction experience in the retail/shopping centre industry as an asset.
Terms of Employment:
  • This is a full-time permanent position.
  • This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
  • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
