The Hotel Renovations Supervisor has the responsibility of overseeing the renovations projects and teams involved with the renovations projects and tasks within the properties of Fantasyland Hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Determining and creating and reviewing detailed renovation and design project timelines while monitoring the adherence to set timelines by the renovations team, contractors and project participants.
- Sourcing renovations based materials, supplies, equipment and contractors and negotiating for the best price on behalf of the organization relating to renovations based specialty items and regular materials.
- Overseeing the Fantasyland Hotel renovations team members, performance and overall budget development and adherence.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with the company’s design and construction teams and having regular communication, timeline, and budget meetings with the Fantasyland Hotel General Manager while attending hotel and renovations related events, meetings or activities as required.
- Completing regular inspections and walkthroughs of the hotel property to follow up on renovations projects to ensure renovated rooms are up to standard to release and preforming routine follow up inspections to ensure renovations projects are holding up to room utilization.
- Ensuring Fantasyland Hotel renovation projects supplies are available for all necessary project tasks and repair jobs and mainlining proper inventories and stock of needed items and resources.
- Working with Fantasyland Hotel’s housekeeping, maintenance and purchasing departments to ensure proper replenishment and ordering of necessary renovations based materials, equipment and supplies and providing re-order inventory information to the respective departments as needed.
- Preforming regular quality assurance walks to identify or follow up on prospective renovations tasks and projects and reviewing guest feedback reports relating to renovations based issues or comments.
- Acting as a liaison with the Hotel marketing department relating to updates or renovations enhancements within the property to ensure there is awareness of new modifications to be used in related collateral.
- Maintaining and updating databases related to manufacturers and suppliers and assisting with the organization and maintenance of the design library including catalogues and samples.
- Screening and responding to emails, phone calls, inquires and acting as a liaison between business partners clients and the renovations team.
- Utilizing creativity and practical judgment to lend support to renovations projects and tasks and lending support to other company renovations based projects as required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the interior design or the renovations industry or related experience in an administrative office role.
- Completion of a post-secondary educations in Project Management, Business Administration or extensive experience in a renovations or construction based trade or related occupation.
- The position requires strong time management and project management experience with a high attention to detail, orderliness and the ability to work with outside contractors and suppliers as well as other hotel departments as needed.
- A professional attitude and demeanor complemented by excellent client relations skills, supervisory or management based experience with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships.
- Self driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision adhering to broad task based goals and objectives. Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills are required
- Excellent typing and computer skills including a strong working knowledge of MS Office programs Word, Excel and Outlook as well the ability to adapt to other software programs if required.
- Flexible availability to assist with occasional evening/weekend projects and tasks when required.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full-time position that required flexible availability Monday through Sunday.
- This is a salaried position that depends on experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
