Custodian

The Hotel Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and sanitation of their assigned areas in the Fantasyland Hotel.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performing the daily cleaning and maintenance duties for Fantasyland Hotel’s common areas.
• Ensuring all standards of cleanliness is adhered to at all times.
• Primary job duties include garbage removal, vacuuming, mopping the floors of the hotel and property, polishing the brass in the hotel, various custodial duties, and other jobs as required.
• Cleaning snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Performing other routine maintenance jobs.
• Operating industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
• Ensuring all products, materials and supplies are well stocked and being utilized in an efficient and effective manner.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day and lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
• Previous cleaning experience is an asset.
• A working knowledge of quality cleaning standards and protocols.
• Experience working in a large scale facility with a high number of staff members.
• Knowledge of cleaning products and WHIMS symbols.

Terms of Employment:

• This is a full-time position that must have flexible working hours such as evenings and weekends and overnight.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
